JAMMU :
The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has ordered change in school timings in Summer and Winter Zones of Jammu Division with effect from October 1, 2026.
As per Order No. 341-DSEJ of 2026, Dated: 26-09-2026, issued by Director School Education Jammu, all Government as well as Private (recognized) Schools upto Higher Secondary Level falling in Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall observe school timing from 9:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M w.e.f 01-10-2026.
The order further states that the Winter Zone of Jammu Division shall observe schools timing from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM w.e.f 01-10-2026.
The order reads, "It is hereby ordered that all the Government as well as Private (recognized) Schools upto Higher Secondary Level falling in Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall observe school timing from 9:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M w.e.f. 01-10-2026."
"The Winter Zone of Jammu Division shall observe schools timing from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM w.e.f 01-10-2026," it reads further.
The Directorate has warned that any deviation to this order shall invite action against the institution, under rules in vogue.
