Kathua :
Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, secured the overall third position in the Under-17 Boys category at the CBSE North Zone-II Chess Tournament held at Mother Teresa Modern Public School, Kurukshetra.
Competing against strong teams from across the North Zone, the school’s young chess players displayed strategic skill, concentration, discipline, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The team comprised Sahil Mahajan, rated 1675; Lakshya Sharma, rated 1456; Paras Sharma, rated 1633; and Vaibhav Dwedi, rated 1660.
Their consistent performance and composure under pressure helped Jammu Sanskriti School finish among the top three teams in the CBSE North Zone-II competition.
The school credited Chess Coach Ravi Sharma for his dedicated mentorship, strategic guidance and sustained efforts in preparing the players for the tournament.
It also acknowledged the support of parents, saying their encouragement and motivation had played an important role in the students’ achievement.
Principal Mili R. Sumbria congratulated the players, their coach, the school’s Sports Department and the parents, saying the achievement reflected perseverance, discipline and teamwork.
She said the performance had brought pride to Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, and highlighted the talent and determination of the students along with the role of dedicated mentorship and institutional support.
