JAMMU :The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdown in several areas of Jammu division from September 27 to September 29, 2026 for execution of various development and maintenance works.
As per communication No. CEJ/TS-II/Shutdown/4290 dated 26.09.2026 issued by Chief Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL, Jammu, the shutdown has been necessitated for replacement of isolators, erection of equipment, rectification of hotspots and routine maintenance works.
The Chief Engineer has requested that the shutdown be published in all daily newspapers for general information of consumers.
*Shutdown Schedule -*
*1. September 27, 2026:*
- *132/33KV 50MVA Grid Station Katra* will remain under shutdown from *09:30 AM to 03:30 PM*. Load to be curtailed is 25 MW for replacement of 02 set of 132 KV isolators. Areas to be affected are Reasi, Pouni, Dharmari and Railway and some part of Katra town.
- *33KV Udhampur-II line* from *07:00 AM to 01:00 PM* - 09 MW curtailment for erection of 11 KV Isolators, 33KV CTs. Areas affected - DC Office, Hospital, Sallian Talah, Shakti Nagar, Kallar, DN Palace, Gol Mela, Venus Chowk, Raj Palace and adjoining areas.
- *Complete shutdown of 220KV Bushar of 320MVA, 220/132/66KV Grid Station Hiranagar* from *06:00 AM to 01:00 PM* - 165 MW. Work - Rectification of hotspots in 220KV, 132KV and 66KV yards. Areas affected - Kathua, Mahanpur, Sewa, HEP, Samba, Billawar, Ghatti, Dyalachak, Hiranagar and adjoining areas and Railway Traction Supply Manwal.
- *220/132/33KV Grid Station Bishuah* from *06:00 AM to 01:00 PM* - 230 MW for routine maintenance work and testing of various transformers. Areas affected - Rishnah, Nandpur, Salehar, Suhagrur, Seora, Ramgarh, Arnia, Miran Sahib Grid, Bari Brahmana Grid, Chatha Grid and adjoining areas.
- *132KV DHP line* from *10:00 AM to 01:00 PM* - 36 MW for erection of equipments. Area affected - District Kishtwar.
- *33KV New Kartholi emanating from 132/33KV Grid Station BB-II* from *06:00 AM to 11:00 AM* - 20 MW for erection of ST poles. Areas affected - Bari Brahmana, EPIP Kartholi Industrial areas.
*2. September 28, 2026:*
- *33KV Udhampur-I line* from *07:00 AM to 01:00 PM* - 09 MW for erection of 11 KV Isolators, 33KV LAs, 11KV XLPE Cable, Painting of Gantry Structure. Areas affected - Housing Colony, Generation Colony, Dabbar Shiv Nagar, Sheetla Mandir, Adarsh Colony.
*3. September 29, 2026:*
- *33KV Army Line* from *08:00 AM to 01:00 PM* - 10 MW. Areas affected - Sansoo, Mansar, ITBP, Garhi, PTC, Bartal Ballian and adjoining areas.
The JPDCL said that the shutdown is subject to fair weather conditions and adherence to Standard Operating Procedure and Safety Norms for execution of works on power lines and equipment.
