JAMMU :After 9 rounds Adhiraj Mitra of Jharkhand played brilliantgame to outsmart overnight leader VedantGargofChandigarhto jointly lead at 7.5 points each out of 9 points while 7 other players are followingat 7 points.In girls section Prishita gupta of Delhi, Saranya devi Narahari of Andhra, shivamshika G of Telengana and Kirtika B of Telengana are jointly leading at 7 points each after 9 rounds.Record 286 players from 30 states/UTs are participating in it including 38 J&K players . Besides around 200 others including Arbiters, Manager, coaches and accompanying persons are participating.
Event carries Toral cash award of Rs.9.00 Lacs . This event is direct selection for World, Asian and commonwealth events. Top 3 will be fully sponsered by Sports authority of India for 4 International tours including World championship besides they will receive Rs.5 to 10 Lacs sponsership from All India chess Federation.
The event is held under the supervision of Atul Kumar Gupta Chairman planning and development comission of All India chess Federation and also Director of this tournament.
Arbiters team is led by Jismon Mathew of Kerela, Deputy chief Arbiter Arbind Singh of Bihar, Ovais from kerela and supported by around 13 other arbiters from various states.
The event will be played under swiss system under Fide Laws of Chess and 11 rounds will be played.
The event is organized by All J&K chess association under the aegis of J&K sports council on behalf of All India chess Federation.
